Santander Scam Avoidance school

Carlisle Carers have worked closely with Santander around raising staff awareness of how easy it is to be scammed, by email, text and at cash points.
All those staff who attended learnt a lot from this session and have found it useful in their everyday lives. It is so easy to trust an email or a personal text, and accidentally give away personal information that lets scammers gain access to your personal information, your bank accounts, and other private parts of your life.It is also easy to put your bank card into a cash machine thinking it is safe to do so, this training teaches you to look for the different ways scammers can adapt cash points so that they can gain access to your pin numbers and your card details – it is so easy!
Santander have added things to their cash points like mirrors so you can see if someone is looking over your shoulder when you are putting in your pin, and pin pad covers that give you more privacy.

Santander are also sponsoring a project at Carlisle Carers. Chris Middleton will provide bespoke training to carers around Manual handling, Health and Safety for the Carer, and he will deliver this in the Carer’s own home so he can address any issues Carers may have directly.
